...The beginning
In the Safoa.net team, operates Roberto (alias DAGO), who often has fun "playing" with Virtual Reality.
While chatting with Graziano (alias DEFO), in the month of November 2003, he suggested:
(a small extract from the short, but intense, discussion)
- Roberto : "What do you say to making a first-person shooter for the Palm OS?" .
- Graziano : " Nice idea, but who are we to compete against the giants that have already been in the market of Palm OS games for years and years?"
..... a few moments of silence...
- Graziano : "Hmmm... is there something that's keeping us from launching into this adventure?"
- Roberto : "..Probably not "
- Graziano : "Well, let's get started then.... If it goes bad then we can just pretend like we lost some money at a casino or that we have worked for the usual customers that consistently don't pay us"
It took only these words and less than twenty minutes to decide to take on this adventure (this type of discussion between Graziano and Roberto is a well proven method practiced for more than 5 years now. Neverending meetings or weeks of words are superfluous... as long as there is an understanding, decisions take only a few minutes)
.......After less than two months of intense study and work... the Alpha version appeared and so we decided to visit the Palm OS Developer Conference in California from February 10 to February 12 2004 to show off our results. The impressions gathered from those who saw Daedalus 3D were "excellent" and they helped us decide to go ahead and continue to improve Daedalus 3D

First impression: "Oh, My God!" I can't believe how great this thing plays on the Zodiac. The detailed graphics of the walls and anvironement scroll by so smoothly that you'd think you were playing Quake on a Pentium 4 PC with 1287 Mb viedo card"

The Full Version is now available and I must say it Rocks. The spiders kick my butt. This is the game I have been waiting for.

The game is amazing! The graphics are great, the sounds are cool, and there are cool weapons. They probably could improve the quality/legibility of the menu, and maybe improve the characters a bit. An on-screen gun would look way nice too, but it's still fun. All of the other objects are 3d though, like teh ammo, health, weapons, etc. I like this game. If the two level demo is what I have played, then I sure do hope that there are lots of levels, becuase they are kind of short.
